Ethiopian Airlines has acquired a new aircraft. A Twin Otter Classic 300-G, delivered by De Havilland Aircraft and registered C-FHYC, this turboprop joins the national airline’s fleet and will help it reach communities both near and far in Ethiopia, as well as in other lake regions of East Africa.
Mesfin Tasew, CEO of the Ethiopian Airlines Group, stated: “I am delighted to mark another important milestone in the development of our fleet with the delivery of the Twin Otter Classic 300-G, which will allow us to form the backbone of a younger domestic fleet.”
It should be noted that Ethiopian Airlines placed an order for two Twin Otter Classic 300-Gs with De Havilland Aircraft during its participation in the 2025 Paris Air Show. The second aircraft will be delivered before the end of this year.
The Twin Otter Classic 300-G is an aircraft designed to ensure short takeoff and landing, even in extreme conditions, making it ideal for accessing hard-to-reach areas.
