Ethiopian Airlines is expanding its network of cargo flights. The national carrier recently launched a new service connecting Addis Ababa Bole and Chengdu airports in China.
Xinhua (Chinese news agency) broke the news: flight ET3005 departed Addis Ababa Bole on August 28, landing at Chengdu Tianfu Airport, marking the inauguration of a new cargo service between Ethiopia and China.
This route is now operated twice a week (Mondays and Fridays) using a Boeing 777F, an all-cargo aircraft capable of carrying up to 107 tons of cargo and flying distances of up to 9,070 km.
Tang Ruibo, Managing Director of Ethiopian Airlines’ China operations, expressed his sincere gratitude to all those who have long supported the development of relations between the two countries: “I extend my warmest congratulations on the inauguration of this new cargo service between Ethiopia and China, which will allow Ethiopian Airlines to expand its cargo distribution to major African hubs from Chengdu.”
A strong presence for Ethiopian Airlines in China
Chengdu becomes the seventh Chinese destination joining Ethiopian Airlines’ cargo network, which already serves six of the country’s largest cities in Southeast Asia: Guangzhou, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Changsha, Wuhan, and Ezhou.
