Ethiopian Airlines celebrated its 80th anniversary in February 2026 in a special way. The anniversary of Africa’s largest airline coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Vietnam, and to mark the occasion, the national carrier launched a new promotional offer for its Vietnamese customers.
This promotion was launched on its Hanoi-Addis Ababa route, inaugurated last year with a stopover in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
According to Leul Seged Desalegn, Ethiopian Airlines’ Regional Director in Vietnam, “This airline was founded with the mission of opening new markets and making travel more accessible. We are pleased to see Ethiopian Airlines regularly serving Hanoi and offering its Vietnamese customers access to its main hub.”
As part of the new promotion (available only for bookings on the website www.ethiopianairlines.com and in the airline’s mobile app), travelers can book flights with a 25% discount on the original price. The offer is valid until midnight on March 15, 2026. However, tickets booked are valid for travel before April 1, 2026.
