Ethiopian Airlines is focusing its efforts on reopening many of its domestic flights canceled over the past two months, whether due to the pandemic or the civil war that broke out twenty-four months ago.
These domestic flights will soon begin. All that remains is to complete the final preparations to announce the official return of Ethiopian Airlines to the air route linking Addis Ababa to Tigray.
But so far, the Ethiopian national carrier does not release any information or details about its program to the country’s East African region. We do not know the number of connections scheduled per week, nor the departure times, or the type of aircraft that will be deployed on this line.
The Ethiopian airline only disclosed that Mekelle and Shire airports; representing the two main air gateways to the region; are able to accommodate passengers safely.
