Ethiopian Airlines launches Addis Ababa-Lyon flight via Geneva

Ethiopian Airlines continues to expand its international network. A few days ago, the national carrier operated its inaugural flight to Lyon, France.

This scheduled flight from Addis Ababa Bole includes a stopover in Geneva, Switzerland, and is operated by an A350-900 capable of carrying 343 passengers: 30 in Cloud Nine class and 313 in Economy class.

In a press release, the Star Alliance member airline announced that this flight will operate three times a week on the following days and at the following times:

Flight ET 738; scheduled for every Saturday, Tuesday, and Thursday; departs from Addis Ababa Bole Airport (ADD) at 12:10 p.m., arrives in Geneva (GVA) at 6:30 a.m., then departs Switzerland at 7:30 a.m. to arrive at Lyon-Saint-Exupéry (LYS) at 8:15 a.m.

The return flight, ET 739, departs France at 7:20 p.m., lands in Geneva at 8:05 p.m., and departs Geneva at 9:05 p.m., arriving in Addis Ababa at 4:55 a.m. (+1).

Ethiopian Airlines Expands Connections from Geneva

The Swiss city’s airport has become an important hub for Ethiopian Airlines, connecting its African hub to another major European destination: Manchester in the United Kingdom.
