Ethiopian Airlines paints the A350 in its MRO facility

Ethiopian Airlines has begun operating its aircraft painting unit at its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, a first in Africa.

The Star Alliance member airline released images of the stripping and painting process carried out on two Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, stated: “We have invested in high-performance industrial facilities tailored to the requirements of Africa’s largest airline. In our dedicated aircraft painting hangar, we have completed the first full stripping and painting program for two of our Airbus A350-900s.”

Ethiopian Airlines’ MRO facility was designed from the outset to optimize operational efficiency and maximize space utilization, thereby helping to reduce maintenance turnaround times for its fleet.

Ethiopian Airlines’ state-of-the-art aircraft painting facility offers access to a painting service using advanced application methods and sophisticated painting techniques such as high-velocity low-pressure (HVLP) spray systems.
