Ethiopian Airlines has announced the opening of a route to a new destination in Europe.
Starting in July 2026, the Star Alliance member will begin operating flights to Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport in France, with a stopover in Geneva.
The French destination will be served three times a week from Addis Ababa Bole Airport, using a 395-seat A350-1000 aircraft.
Lyon will be the second destination served by Ethiopian Airlines in France after Paris-CDG, and will bring to 19 the number of destinations in its European network comprising Athens (Greece), Brussels (Belgium), Copenhagen (Denmark), Dublin (Ireland), Frankfurt (Germany), Istanbul (Turkey), Paris (France) and several other enticing destinations across the European continent.

From Europe to the Middle East, the national carrier recently announced the opening of a direct route to Jizan in Saudi Arabia, with four flights per week departing from Addis Ababa Bole.
