Ethiopian Airlines launches several flights to India

Ethiopian Airlines has launched flights to several destinations in India. Ethiopia’s national carrier will fly to Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai in the summer, operating up to 35 flights per week from its hub at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.

On July 2, 2022, Ethiopian Airlines will land in Chennai and beyond this date, it will fly by Boeing 787 to the state capital of Tamil Nadu three times a week. The routes serving Mumbai and Delhi will benefit from two flights per week from next June 15. The number of frequencies to these two destinations will increase based on passenger demand. India’s two largest cities have been served by Ethiopian for over fifty years.

More than 65% of passengers traveling from India to Addis Ababa fly to other African destinations from the capital of Ethiopia.

So far, Ethiopian Airlines is the only operator serving flights between Ethiopia and India. Air India serves flights within Africa, but operating flights to Nairobi in Kenya.
