The new Ethiopian Airlines Cargo hub: A rotating platform for e-commerce

Ethiopian Airlines Cargo has reached a new milestone in the expansion of its operations with the announcement of a significant investment of $55 million in an innovative project. This ambitious project concerns the installation of a brand new hub dedicated exclusively to e-commerce. Located in the heart of Africa, at Addis Ababa – Bole International Airport, this modern facility aims to strengthen the national carrier’s position as a key player in the logistics and e-commerce industry on the continent.

The new facility, with an estimated storage capacity of an impressive 150,000 tonnes of goods, marks a significant step towards realizing Ethiopian Airlines’ ambition to become a leader in e-commerce logistics in the continent .

Mesfin Tasew, CEO of the ET group, officially unveiled the operation of this new base. The inauguration of this hub is tangible proof of the Ethiopian operator’s proactive strategy to adapt to market trends and effectively respond to the growing needs of global e-commerce.
