Ethiopian Airlines launches its new hub at Jinka Airport

In a bold move to expand its connectivity and strengthen its network in Africa, Ethiopian Airlines has inaugurated a new hub at Jinka Airport. This new facility, which represents an investment of more than eight million euros, is designed to transform air access in the region and stimulate the local economy.

The new 3,500 square meter terminal includes extensive external facilities and VIP parking, underlining the airline’s commitment to offering superior services. With its state-of-the-art equipment, the hub promises to significantly improve the traveler experience while increasing the airport’s handling capacity.

Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, expressed his pride during the inauguration, saying that this project was a crucial milestone for the company in its mission to connect Baco Airport to the rest of the African continent. “This new hub is not only an investment in aviation infrastructure, but also a bridge to new economic opportunities for Jinka and its surrounding areas,” he said.

The opening of the hub is seen by analysts as a key strategy for Ethiopian Airlines to capitalize on the increase in air traffic in Africa.

This expansion comes at a time when the African aviation sector is experiencing dynamic growth, with increased demand for modern and efficient infrastructure. The new Jinka hub is therefore positioned not only as an air hub, but also as a catalyst for regional development, promising new avenues for economic and social progress.
